Relationship

What is Relationship?
A continuing and often committed association between two or more people, as in a family, marriage, friendship, partnership, or other interpersonal link in which the participants have some degree of influence on each other’s thoughts, feelings and actions.

The word sibling once meant anyone who is related to you, but now it’s reserved for children of the same parent or parents. If you and your brother fight all of the time, your parents might call it sibling rivalry. You might just call him annoying and run from the room. Sibling rivalry is the jealousy, competition and fighting between brothers and sisters.  It is a concern for almost all parents of two or more kids. Problems often start right after the birth of the second child. Sibling rivalry usually continues throughout childhood and can be very frustrating and stressful to parents. Sibling relationships are emotionally powerful and critically important not only in childhood but over the course of a lifetime. Sibling relationships can provide a significant source of continuity throughout a child’s lifetime and are likely to be the longest relationships that most people experience.

There are many kinds of relationships such as, friends, siblings, parents, husband or bf, husband’s family, daughter, son, etc. Each relationship starts with a good understanding of not knowing each other to know each other, which leads to a good relationship. In the workplace, the coworkers work together and later if they want to be friends outside the office they can. A romantic or sexual relationship is a bit different from other relationships and it can be wonderful, fulfilling and fun, but it can also be stressful or complicated. A romantic relationship usually involves an emotional, intellectual and/or sexual connection with another individual or individuals. Everyone has their own unique expectation of romantic or sexual relationships. It’s okay if your expectations for romantic or sexual relationships differ from your parents and even from your friends.
Dating is a stage of romantic relationships in humans whereby two people meet socially with the aim of each assessing the other’s suitability as a prospective partner in an intimate relationship. It is a form of courtship, consisting of social activities done by the couple, either alone or with others. There are many apps for dating, such as, tinder, bumble, etc. There are various reasons for using dating apps, one of the reasons is hookups, etc. We believe that people may not understand one’s own self feelings and are difficult to date, or understand someone else as well. As in India it is said that two families marry each other and not just the couple. Marriage is two family bonds which come together in sadness and happiness.

The basic foundation of every relationship is friendship. Whether it’s a relationship with your spouse, children, coworker, or your neighbor, the friendship will form the base of the relationship. Without friends, life would be dull and meaningless. A voluntary relationship between two or more people that is relatively long-lasting and in which those involved tend to be concerned with meeting the others needs and interests as well as satisfying their own desires. Everybody goes through some difficult phases in life. During those times you need a shoulder to cry on. Friends can give exactly that. They will be there to listen to your nonsense talks and still acknowledge whatever you are saying to lighten your heart.

They will help to make your dreams and goals come true by cheering you from the sidelines. They believe in you and that’s the most important driving force you need to go ahead in life. You will never hear the most hilarious jokes unless you are with your friends. Gossiping about others, talking about the new movie or song releases, going to concerts and clubs, all these happen when you are with your friends. Those long hours of gossiping over the phone or in-person will enlighten your heart forever. Being with friends is an instant mood booster. We spend the most joyous and exciting times of our lives with friends.

They will be there to give you advice on how to pull through the difficult time you are passing. They will show you the kindness that you need when you are in trouble. They are the ones who understand you and no matter what the situation is will give you positive energy. Sometimes we are in doubt about our abilities and decisions. But friends will never doubt you. They will be there to encourage you to move forward in life. No matter how difficult a task may be to achieve, they will push you to overcome all the obstacles and accomplish that task.

Conclusion particularly in dealing with events where human relations are involved should be avoided unless it is required. Because even if you conclude, it may not be necessary that you will be happy at the end.  You can choose the right time and words that generate positive emotions.  You must be able to identify and recognize those situations and deal with them.

Depression

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and severe medical condition which has a negative effect on how you feel, how you think and how you act. When enjoyed, depression triggers feelings of distress and/or a lack of interest in hobbies.

Depression symptoms can vary from mild to severe and can include:

  • Feeling sad or having a depressed mood.
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed.
  • Changes in appetite — weight loss or gain unrelated to dieting.
  • Trouble sleeping or sleeping too much.
  • Loss of energy or increased fatigue.
  • Increase in purposeless physical activity or slowed movements and speech.
  • Feeling worthless or guilty.
  • Difficulty thinking, concentrating or making decisions.
  • Thoughts of death or suicide.
  • Feeling restless or irritable.
  • Isolation from family and friends.
  • Drugs or alcohol abuse, a drop in school\college performance.

Worldwide, more than 264 million people have experienced depression. Depression is distinct from the normal changes in mood and short-lived emotional reactions to daily problems. Depression can become a serious health condition, particularly when it is long-lasting and with moderate to extreme severity. It may cause the person who is affected to suffer greatly and perform poorly at work, in school and the family. Depression at its worst can lead to suicide. Near to 800, 000 people die each year from suicide. Suicide in 15-29 year old is the second leading cause of death.

Therapies for moderate to extreme depression are successful. Psychological therapies such as behavioral stimulation, cognitive behavioral therapy and interpersonal psychotherapy, or antidepressant medications such as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants can be provided by health care providers. Health care providers should be aware of potential adverse effects associated with antidepressant drugs, the ability to provide any intervention, and individual preferences. Person and/or community face-to-face psychological services provided by practitioners and supervised lay therapists provide different psychological therapy types for consideration. Often psycho social therapies are effective for moderate depression. Antidepressants can be an important way of therapy for pretty serious depression, but they are not the first line of treatment for mild depression cases.

Who are we?

Hey everyone. There are two bloggers and the names are Nikita Sharma and Radhika Sharma.
We have just started blogging and this is our first time. Since we both are pursuing masters in counseling psychology, we have started this blog so that we can spread the awareness about the mental health. We always wanted to help people in some or the other way. So we’d decided to do Psychology so that no one in this world feels alone.
We have also started a page both on Instagram as well as on Facebook about spreading the awareness of mental health. The name of both the pages are free_tospeakout.
Our blog will be based on mental health and how you can help and deal with yourself effectively.
Everyone is free to text on Instagram or Facebook. Or you can share your queries and the topics that you all want us to talk about.  We will try our best to help you all.
We always wanted to write a blog and make an account but due to some or the reason we couldn’t make it, now in this lockdown we feel like this is the best opportunity make it as well as to connect with people and to help and spread the awareness.  We will be posting everyday either on the same topic or the new topic.
You all can comment below on what do you need me to talk about, for example, if you need me to talk about depression, stress, phobia, anxiety, etc. We will make the next blog on what is the highest comment about.
Our goal behind making this blog is to help each and everyone and to make an awareness how mental health is important just like how physical health matters.
